Branching Out
Being raised in Montana gave Ron Milligan a foundation based on hard work, independence and perseverance but after spending a year in Austria during high school, he had his eyes opened to another world and quickly fell victim to the travel bug. Landing in the middle of Europe did wonders for the country boy from Montana, and his newly found yen for travel and adventure became another strong part of his personality.
After graduating from the University of Montana, Ron picked up and headed for Moscow, Russia, where he ended up staying for over 8 years. He used Moscow as a launching point for traveling in that part of the world. Russia also provided a great opportunity for a 23 year-old “can-do” kid from Billings to start up a catering business and run it successfully for 7 years. Doing business in Russia allowed Ron to attain his goal of Russian fluency and it also honed his negotiating and miracle-working skills.
New Roots
When Ron sold his business and returned to the US, it was important for him to land in a city that was fun, unique and progressive. He wanted to live in a community that was metropolitan without being oppressive in its pace or cost of living, and Portland fit that bill perfectly – urban, progressive, friendly and green.
A Great Environment
Downtown life is where it’s at for Ron. He wishes he had the time to ride his bike everywhere he goes in Portland, and there is nothing better in Ron’s book than being able to step outside his front door and have his choice of cafes, delis, unique restaurants, pubs and theaters at his fingertips. This central location is not only convenient, but it’s also green when it keeps you out of your car. When Ron took up Taekwon-do, he found an excellent school within walking distance of his home which is where he logged up to 10 hours a week prior to receiving his black belt in near record time. For Ron, there is nothing like having a goal and bringing it home through diligence and hard work!

Ron specializes in condominiums and townhouses in and around Portland’s urban core, and if buying or selling in this area is your goal, then Ron will make it his goal too. He promises to represent your interests exclusively and with an expertise that only comes from specialization. Ron would much rather give up business that conflicts with his clients’ interests (like representing both parties in a transaction) or doesn’t fall within his area of expertise than try to turn a quick buck or dabble in a field he doesn’t know intimately. A client’s success and happiness as well as their future business and referrals are much more rewarding.
